My main area of interest is the production of functional stoneware. Inspiration for my pots comes mainly from nature and I incise and carve to mimic plant movement and landscape, some of which will reflect the naturalistic quality of Chinese pictograms. I have developed a range of high fired stoneware glazes that enhance the carving. The forms I make are complimented by the decorative motifs and patterns. Through use I wish the qualities in my pots to be fully appreciated and enjoyed.
